Russian Sparkling Wine Tasting Tour in Moscow 2021 +79.ANGEL.TOUR

We are glad to offer you a special tour to taste the wines of the largest and oldest Russian sparkling wine house, established by the Imperial edict of Tsar Alexander II in 1870, the most famous 'Russian Champagne' delivered to the Kremlin from emperors to presidents!

This tour could could be combined with Moscow Bar Tour in English or French during which you will taste the best cocktails and wines in best Moscow bars.

The emperor appointed duke Golitsyn as the head of the enterprise to achieve the best quality of the wine in Russia. To that end French winemakers were commissioned to employ the authentic wine fermentation method (champenoise) and French viniculture. Over decades the Russian royal court and high society ordered the resultant sparkling wines for coronations, birthdays, anniversaries and daily usage. Over 80 000 bottles of the sparkling wines were exported to America and Britain.

The winery and its signature sparkling wines survived the Bolshevik revolution of 1917, the Civil and the Second World wars. Sovetskoye Champanskoye ('Soviet Champagne') remained the sparkling wine of choice for the ruling elite of the USSR and for the Soviet citizens, especially for New Year celebrations and other holidays. Currently these sparkling wines are supplied to the Kremlin for official receptions, President inaugurations and other high profile events where they are tasted by heads of states, ministers, ambassadors. Since the launch of the enterprise, these wines won numerous prizes at international wine tastings and wine contests.

During the tour you will know about the history of the 'Russian Champagne' House, see the film about Russian sparkling wines and will be offered two wine tasting sets (5-6 wines each):
